Spine shattering. Bone blasting: Vintage cover art, part 9

Here’s another nostalgic look at the big clunky VHS tapes from the good old days. These beautiful things were put on the market in the 70′s when the Grindhouse theaters began disappearing, and videocassette recording then dominated the consumer market in the 80′s and 90′s and sort of became the Grindhouse for that era. It was a glorious time, and I still remember walking around the video stores admiring the awesome posters on the VHS boxes for hours at a time, much like being at an art museum. They just don’t make covers like they used to.
