Come face to face with the creation of evil: THE BURNING review

The Burning was one of the first (and best) films that got included on the UK’s Video Nasties list, partly because of the infamous raft massacre – one of the best scenes in slasher movie history. The film is about a summer camp caretaker who is badly burned from a prank gone wrong. Understandably upset, he gets a rather negative outlook on life, and a few years later “Cropsy” returns to the camp with a pair of garden sheers to kill and kill and KILL. Tagline: Don’t look, he’ll see you. Don’t breathe, he’ll hear you. Don’t move… you’re dead! The Burning was the feature film debut of Jason Alexander and Holly Hunter, and it launched the careers of acclaimed producer Harvey Weinstein. It also has great effects by SFX wizard Tom ‘Sex Machine’ Savini, who turned down Friday the 13th part 2 to work on this. Definitely one of my favorite horror movies.
