A whole lot of fun for giallo fans: THE RED QUEEN KILLS 7 TIMES review

Two sisters, Kitty and Evelyn, grow up in a gothic castle – a rather creepy place with a mysterious curse related to a butt-ugly painting hanging on the wall, in which a lady called “The Red Queen” is stabbing her sister. Legend has it that The Red Queen returns from the dead every hundred years and kills seven people. Then, when Kitty and Evelyn grow up, the bitch in red suddenly appears! This film is what giallo is all about; It has a convoluted plot, good kill scenes, great cinematography, a catchy score by Bruno Nicolai and hot women; Cult queens Barbara Bouchet, Sybil Danning and Marina Malfatti in the same film! The Red Queen Kills 7 Times is directed by Emilio Miraglia who, a year earlier, made another giallo called The Night Evelyn Came Out of the Grave. These two films are known as his “Killer Queen” films. Miraglia even uses the name Evelyn in both films. But this “sequel” is a standalone giallo, and it’s even better than the first one.
